Hello, friends! I’m back from an amazing trip from St. Louis, and after having plenty of time to obsess over ‘Chiptunes = WIN: Volume 5’, I have come up with my reviews for the next ten tracks. Please enjoy, and if you haven’t taken the time to listen to this album yet, fix that problem by listening to the tracks alongside my review of each of them!
Welcome back to the cavalcade of Volume 5 reviews ChipWINners! This fine Monday, I’m happy to be taking a deep-ish look at tracks 21 through 30 with you dear readers. This selection includes some of my personally favorite tracks, albeit, at the end of the day all 51 tracks are all pretty examples of raw chiptune talent. Without further digression, jump past the fold for some more slightly more focused rambling!
Welcome to the second day of reviews for the newly-released Chiptunes = WIN: Volume 5! As a reviewer, this is a really interesting way of breaking down such a large compilation because we essentially have a separate ‘album’ worth of incredibly diverse material to prepare for dissection, while still relating it to Volume 5 as a whole. I have the distinct pleasure of going over tracks 11-20, which contain some of the best melodic, heavy, and just plain weird tunes on the compilation. Here we go!
It’s another year, another excellent selection of 51 tracks, and if you have no idea what I’m talking about then you must be living under the biggest rock. ‘Chiptunes=WIN Volume 5’ is the definitive entry at this point in time. Every track in this compilation was handcrafted almost perfectly for the listening pleasure of the thousands of people who listen to this kind of stuff. And HOLY SHITBALLS LOOK AT THAT ART.
While I’d love to sit here and review every track until my arms bleed, I have other things to do (like listening to Chiptunes=WIN Volume 5). SO, I have been given the task to review the first 10 tracks, and I’ll be doing something a little different for track 9. I’ll let you figure out wh- wait, don’t scroll do- fuck, you really are impatient? Ugh. I guess we’re doing this anyways!
