Pretty much every family has a trademark dish. For some folks, it’s something to sweat over the stove for (I’m looking at you, egg based puddings) or something as simple as the perfectly made grilled cheese sandwich (My mom used a spatula to spread on the butter!), but today I’m making a gift for my Grandpa. Luckily Grandma didn’t like complicated
Okay, here’s the deal, I’m about to let you in on a super Chip Mom secret; the family recipe if you will. It’s not like we shout this one from the rooftops, so I hope my fam doesn’t get on my case but…
Yes, it is totally on the back of the bag. No, I am not ashamed. When it’s good, it’s good, ya know?
Following the directions, you preheat the oven and then separate the dry and wet ingredients.
Go ahead and mix up the sugars, soften butter, and vanilla until it’s super smooth.
Slowly add the dry ingredients until everything is evenly combined, then toss both bags of chips on top!
When the chips are blended in, drop heaping tablespoons onto your cookies sheets.
Into the sauna they go! Mine cooked 9 minutes to golden brown with chewy centers. 8 minutes for super chewy and you could push to 11 or 12 minutes if you like crunchy cookies!
Give scritches if scritches are required of you.
Let each batch cool slightly before packaging with your preferred amount of ribbons and bows. If you’re feeding yourself this holiday…DIG IN!
And regardless of how you celebrate, or don’t, no matter what day of the year, remember, Chip Mom luvs ya!
