THE CLOVER AWARDS: 2018

Posted by

The new year is in full swing – MAGFest has come and gone, Chipwrecked is preparing for another great lineup, and we’ve already got a few fun 2019 chiptune releases! But such an active community also makes for a lot you may have missed, and I’d like to give the last year a final sendoff before moving onto this one. I’m proud of the work I did in 2018, but there was a lot I didn’t get to talk about as well. This scene is bursting with music to enjoy and appreciate, so while I can only cover a small portion of it, I’d like to try and spotlight some tunes that deserve the attention.

Naturally, I will be doing this in the silliest way possible.

Chip Mom’s Kitchen #45: Blueberry Creamcheese Bread

Posted by

For a lot of folks, holidays involve family (for better or for worse). I always spend my holidays with family, although mine is what you might call… “non-traditional”.

For instance, each Easter involves an Iron Chef style cook-off with a secret theme/ingredient. This year, the secret theme is “The Letter B“. So Buzzfeed brought to me…

Blueberry Beer Cheesecake Bread!

Difficulty level:
Newb           |         Apprentice        |         Journeyman         |         Master

Super simple, super delicious! I’m going to need to make a second one…

Quest Items:
1/2 C powdered sugar
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 tsp vanilla extract

2 1/4 C self rising flour
1/3 C brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 C milk
1 C Blueberry Ale (can substitute Blueberry Flavored Water)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 C blueberries

Musical Accompaniment:

Illustrated Guide:

For this one, we’re gonna need about Tree-fiddy.

Butter your pan in a way that would make Paula proud.

Whip together your softened cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla. Once smooth, set the mixture aside.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and the brown sugar.

Add in the wet ingredients: egg, butter, vanilla, milk, and blueberry ale. Once whisked smooth (like a thick waffle batter), stir in the blueberries.

Time to put it all together!

Add half the batter to the bread pan, and then layer the cream cheese mixture on top, making sure not to push it down into the batter.

Add the rest of the batter on top; then pop it into the oven for 40 – 45 minutes!

Let the bread rest and cool, top with powdered sugar, and then devour.

Lastly, remember, Chip Mom luvs ya!
